Most smog checks at Star Smog take approximately 15 to 20 minutes. You are welcome to wait in our comfortable, air-conditioned waiting room during the test.
Does the smog station send results to DMV?
Yes. Star Smog electronically transmits your smog certificate directly to the DMV at no additional charge. This means you can renew your registration online or by mail right after your test.
What should I bring for a smog check?
Please bring your vehicle registration or DMV renewal notice. If you have a smog check coupon, bring that as well (printed or on your phone). No other documents are needed.
Can I schedule an appointment online?
No appointment is necessary at Star Smog. We are a walk-in smog station. Simply drive in during business hours and we will get you tested quickly — most smog checks take about 15 minutes.
What payment methods does Star Smog accept?
We accept cash, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. Our smog check is $39.75 with coupon for most vehicles, plus the $8.25 DMV certificate fee if your vehicle passes.
